the third time's...a pain in the ass

A woke up this morning with a fever. And fussy. And clingy. So, we called the ped and headed on in.

Yep. You guessed it. Ear infection.

Apparently, these have been three separate ear infections, as opposed to one ear infection that hasn't ever healed. However, this means that A's frequent-infection status is putting her dangerously close to needing tubes. Ugh.

E stayed home from school, apparently for comic relief. When the nurse was asking about A's symptoms and I explained that I suspected that there was an infection, E chimed in,
"I checked her ears already. Yep. There are bones in there."
So, the rest of the day was relatively uneventful. The girls are both in bed (well, A is asleep, E is chillin' in the Dora bed). John and I were supposed to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate our anniversary...but we're now waiting on our Chinese to be delivered while watching Superbad.

Good times indeed.

I know tubes sound horrible right now but, The Belle got tubes last Feb. and life has been wonderful since. I know what you are going through. Good Luck.

Ugh- Friday fun at the slackers! I hope she feels better- I had tubes a bunch of times when I was younger, and like P&P said, they make life so much better. One time when I was in the hospital getting my tubes in (I was 4) I told the Dr. I was there to get my tubes tied!

As you know, Jake had tubes too. Only one infection in a year and a half since then. And the surgery took less time than to drink a cup of coffee - I was kind of bummed, it was the yummy flavored kind.

Any case, I hope the antibiotics kick butt and you guys recoup for a dinner tonight - or next week. :)

So sorry this had to happen on your anniversiary. We always have something classic like that happen on ours too. I am so sorry for A and for you. DD never has had an ear infection (knock on wood) but from what I have heard it is no fun. I hope the weekend improves!

Seriously, what is with this year and germs? I had tubes when I was a kid. I have never had an ear infection since (they scar the eardrum at bit and make is harder to get them).

We celebrated our 28th anniversary on April 3rd. We are now empty nesters, but were stuck at home due to my Lupus flare. We did the Chinese food take in too.
Our granddaughter has tubes. We discovered our oldest son, as a toddler, had a severe hearing loss. Tubes helped tremendously with that - for the first time he could hear the birds!

Marathon Mom's friend here...My son didn't let me know he had an ear infection in Feb 07, let alone was even feeling bad until his EAR DRUM ruptured and he was "draining" from his ear (he has a HIGH threshold for pain!). No complaining, no decrease in activity. Nothing! Anyway, that was a FUN ped appointment! They were like, "How long has he been sick?" and I was like "Uh..."
