reunited ... and it feels so good!

On Saturday night, John and I were heading up to Baltimore for John's "Holiday" party. (It used to be held in December, but got postponed one year...everyone liked it so much after the holiday rush, we've kept it there!) John and A went to lunch, E and I went to her dance class, and we met up at Nonna and Pop-pop's where the girls were spending the night.

Right as we were leaving, I realized something. While I had packed the girls' clothes, pajamas, tootbrushes & toothpaste, winter coats, sleeping bags and pretty much everything else not nailed down...I had forgotten to get Taggie and Silky, which were being used as picnic blankets in the living room earlier in the morning.

Since I did remember to pack most of A's nighttime posse (Dora pillow, Dora blanket, Yellow blankie and Minnie Mouse), I figured she'd be okay. I decided to tell E what had happened so it wouldn't be an issue when it got to bed time. So I sat her down and just said, "Hey, E. When we were rushing to go to dance class this morning, I forgot to pack Silky."

She burst into tears.

I was a little taken aback by her reaction. I mean, she does love her some Silky-silks, but I didn't think she's be that upset. Luckily, we were able to come up with several Silky alternatives, including some silky pajama pants I had brought for her. And, my mom swears to me that she was fine that night. (A did ask for Taggie, but was quickly distracted.)

I guess it just goes to show that no matter how much of a big girl she's becoming...in some respects she's not so big, after all.
