Recently, E has picked a favorite. It's Ariel.
What this means is that there is a lot of mermaid talk around these parts. On Sunday, we were all sitting in the family room when E asked us,"Kiki, Nonna and Mommy, do you want to learn how to sit like a mermaid?"She then proceed to sit as straight as humanly possible, and put her legs together folded off to one side to make her "tail". She also had this very regal but very serious look on her face. It was precious. She checked each of our forms and then declared us all mermaids.
And I'm not sure how it evolved, but E will always ask me,
"Am I still your baby?"Today though I got a different question.
My response is always the same, "E, you will always be my baby."
"Mommy, am I still your mermaid?"How could I say no?

So cute! I have been telling E's "sit like a mermaid" story from this past weekend to anyone who will listen. For equal time, I have also been telling A's "gun show" story, too! They are too precious and I miss them so much already!
Kiki
Ah, yes. The Gun Show.
I'll try to get pictures of the girls "doing their stuff" so you can *show* anyone who will look how cute they are.
One more day of school for you...you must be PSYCHED!
adorable ! ariel was sass's first favorite as well.
Wow, it's weird how I could have written almost identical posts. 4 year old girls must read from the same handbook. Mine sits like a mermaid during her bath every night. I will admit that I caved to the Princess pressure long ago, and she has several books and both Cinderella and the Little Mermaid movies. Not to mention a ton of dressup gear from two years worth of princess fueled birthday parties.
Also we are having the same exact issues with naptime at school. Except Sweet Pea will rat herself out after school every day by saying defiantly, "Mom, today I wasn't quiet during naptime and Miss Kasey was going to call my daddy." (Little does pre-school know what a total wimp Daddy is in the discipline department.)
And for the final installment of the "who is this stalker on my blog" series, I have not one but TWO creepy babies at my house that look exactly like that. One of them even cries real tears and makes a psychotic giggling noise. Special. Sweet Pea makes her dad strap that baby doll into her brother's carseat when they get to school every day. Then the baby goes to work with Dad. I am waiting for his back window to be smashed in by a parking lot do-gooder trying to save creepy baby one of these days.
Love your blog!
cute story-didn't we all want to be mermaids at one time? Remember "Sandy Seaweeds" in the bathtub....
Still have "Sandy Seaweeds" at my grandmothers house and Rachel plays with them in the tub every time we're there.
We were at the pool yesterday with a friend from down the street and the girls were trying to swim like mermaids. Always a fave of mine too.
Clover...welcome! It sounds like my E and your Sweet Pea would be really good friends. E once tried to get us to buckle a creepy baby into a car seat...but unfortunately we had to actually use it for her sister.
SM and Deep in the Heart...I have never heard of this Sandy Seaweeds before. I must be missing out!
Sounds like a conversation in my house! Someone who lives here is in LOVE with Ariel.
