a lesson in genetics

It seems that when children are brought into a family, the parents and relatives and friends (and strangers, even) spend a good portion of the time figuring out the "source" of a child's appearance and behaviors.
If I had a nickle for every time I heard "She looks *just* like you..." when I'm out and about with E.

A's blue eyes are another source of question. "Who in your family has blue eyes?" we often get asked. (Her Nonna, Granddad and Uncle Matt, in case you were curious.)

And since neither kid has seemed to inherit any sort of shyness gene, we often hear "Well, it's not like their parents are quiet wallflowers."
And so on and so forth. Each trait and behavior logically linked to one or both of us.

But this?

Yeah...that's totally from her dad.
