After we said our goodbyes and climbed the car, E began to ask a few questions.
"Mommy, when are you going to have a baby in your belly?"This came totally out of left field, as E really has never expressed interest in getting another sibling. But, apparently, Baby Meredith did a number on her. Later, she told John that she would prefer a sister and we could name her Leela. However, for now, I think we'll just pretend like Kiki's baby is the littlest sibling in the Slacker family.
"Uh. Excuse me?" I stammered.
"I want you to have a baby in your belly. I want five."
"You want me to have five babies in my belly!?!?" I coughed out.
"No. I want there to be five in our family. You, me, Daddy, A and a baby."
As for A, she's fairly against the concept of a younger sibling. Generally when I hold a baby, or sometimes even talk to her classmates, she runs over, grabs my arm and yells "MY MOMMY!" I don't think she's quite ready to share. But, that doesn't mean that she doesn't think babies are useful. As I was buckling her into her carseat after dinner, I noticed a familiar odor rising up from her heiny.
"Ooo, A. Do you have a stinky poops in your diaper?" I asked.
"No, Mommy," A replied. "Baby did it."

Mariachi Monday sounds like fun...
Too funny about a new baby. R's good friend Luke's mom is having a baby, so of course, I have been asked a few times recently.
Still up in the air on that one, so I always say, "Only God knows if we will have another baby!"
You'll have to see if "baby" makes it on her Christmas list.
We had fun- the kids were all very good! We'll have to do this more Mondays- I'll cook next! And since El Tio did not have the Mariachi band for Mariachi Monday- we'll have the kids play for us!
So funny! JBB wants me to have another baby in my tummy too. I don't know how to explain that my tummy has gone out of business.
LOL!
My girls often tell me they want me to have a baby in my tummy or better yet when I'm bloated and PMSing that I HAVE a baby in my tummy. Eeek! ;)
jealous.
I wanna play with you AND marathon mom.
Why not? My younger kids are going to need someone to play with when we get together!
My oldest has often told me he wants "twins" next, "a girl and a boy." And yes, we will do 2 kids, or 4 kids (and as of yet, we have 2...) but since getting a dog (a.k.a Kona the Super Wonder Shelter Dog) I am thinking..."Wow, this dog thing is so easy compared to a kid..."
Hopefully the kids won't be disappointed when their 3rd and 4th siblings turn into a beach house and a dog. Ha ha...
