at least she's honest

While I was getting ready this morning, E came in and tried to grab the chest strap of our elliptical machine's heart rate monitor. She starts out using it as a fishing pole to go fishing...and often ends up as a lasso or other object that is swung wildly around and, therefore, likely to hit A upside the head.
"Mama, I'm going fishing," she said as she walked into the bathroom.
"No, E. You cannot play with that thing."
E tries to run and grab it.
"E! I said you may not play with it!" I say, slightly exasperated.
"Oh, OK, Mommy," E replied as she walked out of the bathroom. "I'll just come back and get it when you aren't looking, and play with it then."

Honesty is a great quality!

By the way, Stevey was super-impressed with E's writing and drawing skills! She's so smart!

Encourage this trait! My R is not so honest, but since we have been working a lot on being truthful, sometimes he will say, when pressed, "I thiiiiiiiiiiink I may have done XYZ!"

I mean, he is so *not* honest, he could be caught red-handed and still try and wiggle his way out. Maybe i need to ship him to your house for a truthfulness lesson.
