My county has two days devoted to Kindergarten registration. Guess who's going to hold off until that second day...in part because she couldn't get the paperwork together in time (seriously people, getting a mortgage involves less paper trail than this!) and in part because I just can't bring myself to admit that my first born (my sweet pea! my goose! my sweet baby girl!) is actually old enough to go to kindergarten?
I mean, wasn't it just yesterday that she looked like this?
Excuse me while I go sob uncontrollably into my coffee.

I can totally relate. We had two weeks to register and I waited until the last day (partly because we have open enrollment and had to choose the best school for R).
How did this happen?!?!
I know, ours is next week and I am still in denial. Harrison has not stopped talking about kindergarten since Christmas. He is already so excited and I AM NOT! WAAHHH!!!!
I'm with you!!! Our registration doesn't open until May, and I'm not ready. I can believe my kids are starting kindy already.
Exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!!!!
I was there with you last year. Kindergarten is soooo great. The kids are so excited and love every little thing they do. You'll love it, too. Rachel's getting ready to go to first grade - homework every night and lots more responsibility. I'd keep another year of kindergarten if I could.
This is NOT possible! When did that little baby grow up to be a big girl?

all i ever do is think, gosh i can't wait till sass can put on her own socks....of course she puts on her own socks and i nearly break down that she isn't a baby and doesn't need me...i need a life.
Just wait till the first day of school. You may need a Valium.
Oh count me in on this one. My tiny baby from China will start in August. My MD friend has already promised me some Valium and Xanax. I mean I sobbed when I found out that you can only walk in "your student" on the 1st day - after that you must drop "your student" off at the front door. OMG - what if she gets lost!!??!! Now granted the school is not very big and they have a "buddy" to meet them and walk them but still what if said buddy is mean or a slacker??!! OMG - Must go take a valium now.....
Hysterical here in AL

It is a milestone, for sure, but when you see what happens in Kindergarten...you'll be THRILLED! My M has learned SOOO much in Kindergarten (he is 5 and reading "chapter books!")and their days are SO fun and exciting! Really a contrast to "Playschool/Nursery School" where the main goal was "How to Be Away from Mommy for Two Hours." We have "all day" Kindergarten here (8am-2:30PM)...and let me tell you, Girlfriend...I have EARNED all of my "spare time!"
Oh how depressing. I still have another year before The Belle goes to school. Just the thought of it makes me tear up. They aren't suppose to grow up this fast!
