a shout out to kiki

So the other night, I was cooking pasta and peas for the girls. Pasta and peas is a Slacker go-to meal, but we usually use tortellini or ravioli from the fresh section. Friday night, however, I broke out the box of Barilla.

"What's for dinner, mama?" E asked.
"Pasta." I replied.
"Mac and cheese?" E asked.
"Nope. Gemelli.*"
"Let me see!" E said.
So I showed her the pasta.

"It's curly pasta!" E exclaimed. "Just like Kiki's hair!"

It just maks me so happy that, even though Kiki doesn't live close, she's still in the forefront of E's mind!

* Nerd alert: Gemelli is Italian for "twin" as well. So another way it all goes back to Kiki.
