will run for cheesesteaks

So I had a wild and crazy Saturday evening. If by wild and crazy, you mean registering myself for a 10-mile race in 10 weeks. Which I totally do. Come May 2nd...you wanna know what I'll be doing?

Broad Street is Philly's version of the Cherry Blossom.
"But, Slacker Mama," you say, "don't you kind of hate running?"
Why, yes. Yes, I do. But I was tricked talked into running it by one of my best friends...so I really couldn't say no. Bonus! She hates running as much as I do!

I'm going to try start posting updates on training on my other blog. You know, the one I update even less than this one. We'll see how this all turns out.

Best case scenerio: I learn to love running.
Worst case scenario: I get a cool T-shirt.

From in information page for the Broad Street Run

"There will be numerous Ambulances on the course. If you get sick or injured, remain calm until help arrives. If any runner comes upon an emergency and no help is in the area, please report it to any police officer along the course. Temple University, Hahnemann, and Methodist Hospitals are on the racecourse".

Good luck,
Dad

Dane,
I am pretty sure there are many Irish pubs along the race course too. If the ambulance doesn't show up, we could probably drag the other in for a Guiness... you know, Guiness is good for you!

Are you doing this totally blind, or have you been training in secret all these months? Because duuuude...10 miles is a lot longer than a 5k.
