putting those newly found reading skills to good use

On Saturday, the girls and I spent a good deal of the day in the car. We hit Target, dropped E off at a classmate's birthday party, and then headed in to meet Nonna and Pop-pop for dinner. While in the car, I spent the majority of my time flipping through the XM radio to find a song that E and A would like.

At one point I stopped on a station just as a song was ending and a new song was beginning. E thought I had moved on to a new station and wanted to hear what had just ended.
"Mama! Put it back! That was Katy Perry's Waking Up in Vegas! I love that song!"
I was a little more than shocked. "How did you know what song was on, E?" I asked.
She pointed to the radio display that showed the Artist and Title.
"Because the name said K and then P. Katy Perry is a K and a P."
So, I don't know what I'm more in trouble for...the fact that she'll probably know when I try to zip past Miley Cirus or other annoying artist from now on, or the fact that my 5-year-old counts Katy Perry as part of her go-to hits.

Keep researching the "convent options" - it's you're only offense.
Love,
Nonna
