counting my blessings

I was in the midst of writing a post about how last evening was a comedy of errors in the Slacker house...one that involved cat puke, whiny kids and John eating all of the rice.

But then, I read my e-mail.

A mom in a neighboring mom's group had a heart attack early last Thursday, which has left her comatose with a grim prognosis. She has two girls, 2 1/2 and 6 months. The family has started blog which details what they are going through, and I found myself crying as I read it in in my cubicle. Her mom's club is spearheading gift card drive that the Nolan family can use to buy essential items. If you want to find out more information on how to donate, please go here.

So if you are the praying type, please put the Nolan family in your prayers. But whatever you do, take a moment to hug your loved ones. I know I certainly am going to.

I sent this and the link from Troy's blog to my local Moms club. I'm also going to see if I have some unused gift cards floating around to send their way. If I haven't spent them yet, I'm obviously not going to miss them. And yes, this choked me up too...

Just catching up on blogging.

Gosh, the loss of power/email suddenly seems so miniscule.

Consider prayers said.

Oh my...this is just devastating. Prayers just said. I just kept reading the ages of the kids over and over.

Such a sad story- makes you realize how fortunate we are. Sidney is in Julia's class, she is such a sweet little girl.

oh, wow. That is just so sad. I don't think most women even realize that heart disease is the number one killer of women...and it even impacts young, seemingly healthy women. My thoughts are definitely with her and her family.

Wow. I feel for her family. I will say a prayer for them.
